Mark Hamill will Voice the Joker in ‘Batman: The Killing Joke’

Fear not, animated Batman fans! Warner Bros. has already announced they’re adapting the acclaimed, if not controversial, Batman: The Killing Joke as an animated feature film, targeting a 2016 release. The good news is we now know Mark Hamill is signed on to voice the Joker, according to Collider.

[amz asin=”1401216676″ size=”small”]Anyone who has seen the Joker in animated form is familiar with Hamill’s work. The Star Wars actor has voiced the character countless times and in various incarnations, so it’s great to know that no matter the quality of the rest of the film, the Joker’s voice will be right.

There’s still plenty to worry about with this film, however. As I wrote about when it was first announced, “The Killing Joke” is far from an easy story to adapt in animated form. The story is clearly aimed at a mature audience, which might lead Warner Bros. to sanitize bits of it. If that’s the case, we might be in for a subpar film as compared to the comic.

Worst case scenario, the film stinks, but we’ll have a mighty fine performance from Mark Hamill.
