Chris Hemsworth Joins Paul Feig’s ‘Ghostbusters’ as the Receptionist

Paul Feig is preparing his reimagining of Ghostbusters with an all-female cast serving as the ghost busting gurus. That cast includes Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones and today Feig tweeted out the newest addition, that being Chris Hemsworth (Avengers: Age of Ultron) and he’ll be serving as the Ghostbusters’ receptionist.

If you’ll remember back to the original Ghostbusters, Annie Potts played the role of Janine and, for her part, she was every bit a member of the team. Beyond comical appearances on Jimmy Fallon’s “The Tonight Show” and “Saturday Night Live”, Hemsworth is proving to be more than just an action star as Thor in The Avengers as he also has a comedic cameo in the upcoming Vacation reboot. Personally I love the decision to toss him in the mix, especially since the Aussie actor is a shade over 6’2″ and will tower over his co-stars… Well, not Jones who apparently stands six-feet tall, which could also make for some good interplay.

No word yet on story, but filming begins soon with a July 22, 2016.
