‘Ant-Man’ Writers Join ‘Transformers’ Writers Room, Origin Story Expected

The Akiva Goldsman-led Ant-Man, are also attached to pen a new movie.

As far as what film they’ll write, it’s as unclear as which ones the other mentioned writers, plus “The Walking Dead” creator Robert Kirkman, will lend their time towards. Although as details continue to emerge, reports speculate one film in this new series is not a sequel or a spin-off but rather a prequel with the working title Transformers One. It’s said this one focuses on the planet Cybertron, the home planet of the Autobots and Decepticons before they arrived on Earth.

This would make sense, given the team behind these new movies, Michael Bay, Steven Spielberg and Lorenzo di Bonaventura, have seemingly all the resources in the world to make this a possibility now, and if this movie is also animated like the reports suggest, this could work out in their budgetary favor. One would assume this movie would follow pretty close to 1986’s Transformers: The Movie, which wasn’t great either but I’ll take it over any of the three-hour slogs Bay created this past near-decade with the series.
