The Cannes Film Festival is just around the corner and we’re getting some new pictures from several of the films playing this year’s impressive line-up and in just over a week we’ll begin getting the first impressions from those lucky enough to be in attendance as I am, sadly, missing my second year in a row. Oh well, on to this post…
Just above is a new-ish look at Todd Haynes‘ Carol and just below is the newest picture from the upcoming movie starring Cate Blanchett and Rooney Mara based on Patricia Highsmith’s book “The Price of Salt”.
One of the most anticipated films of the fest, Carol revolves around two women from different backgrounds who strike up a relationship in 1950s New York. One a young woman (Mara) working in a department store and hoping for a better life, the other a wife (Blanchett) trapped in a loveless marriage and desperate to break free, but fearful of losing her daughter in the process.
