‘Star Wars’, What Happens Between ‘Return of the Jedi’ and ‘The Force Awakens’?

We’ve Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens, hits theaters. These books will connect the original trilogy, which ended with Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi with this new batch of films, the first to be directed by J.J. Abrams and the books will fill the timeline between features.

So what happens in these books? Well, that information is beginning to be released as StarWars.com has revealed the plot to one of the books, “Star Wars: Aftermath“, which will begin on Endor, where Return of the Jedi ended. Here’s the official plot:

“The second Death Star has been destroyed. Rumors are flying that the Emperor and his enforcer, Darth Vader, are dead. A new government is forming to replace the Empire. But the galaxy is a big place, and the fallout of this cataclysm will affect different worlds in different ways. Does everyone accept the fall of Imperial rule? Has everyone even heard the life-altering news? What rushes in to fill the vacuum the Empire has left? And who will try to stop them? Those are some of the themes we’ll be exploring in Aftermath…”

Written by Chuck Wendig, this is the first book in a planned trilogy. “Aftermath” is expected to be released in September, though no word on whether or not the two additional books will arrive in October and November, though that would seem only logical.
