Steven Spielberg May Direct the Next Indiana Jones Film Starring Chris Pratt

We all know the mighty House of Mouse is looking at Chris Pratt according to Deadline, Steven Spielberg, the director of the previous four Indy films, would be interested in tackling the new version with Pratt as the star.

Now, with that said, I want to make a couple of things clear.

  1. Steven Spielberg may be interested in directing a new Indy movie.
  2. Chris Pratt might star as the fedora-wearing archaeologist.
  3. There is no script for the film at this time.
  4. Disney is developing something with Indiana Jones, whether it is a reboot or sequel is still unknown.

So, basically, there is absolutely nothing official about this film. a) That goes to show you what people need to report on. b) It shows you how these studio movies get made. Get a star. Get a director. Set a release date. Let’s write a script now.

It wouldn’t surprise me if these things come to fruition, but I guess what I’m saying is I’d rather hear about it when it does and not when it might?

Adding fuel to the speculative fire, Pratt recently did a red carpet interview with MTV, addressing the Indy rumors, and his comments basically come down to “It’d be cool” and “It’s all nothing ’til it’s something.” So, chew on that and let me know what you think in the comments below, or don’t as I’m not even sure if there’s anything to discuss or how I churned out more than 250 words for this post.
