Inglorious Bastards only hit theaters in August, but Quentin Tarantino is already being praised for his groundbreaking work on the movie by Hollywood and was recognized for his contributions to the industry by the Santa Barbara Film Festival.
The provocative director received the Kirk Douglas Award for Excellence in Film at the Biltmore Four Seasons and ComingSoon.net was there. We chatted briefly with the man of the night at his tribute dinner and watched as he excitedly accepted his award.
“It’s a big honor to be honored by the Santa Barbara Film Festival. It’s also a big honor to get the Kirk Douglas Award,” Tarantino told us.
We asked what he will be doing next and he said he honestly doesn’t know.
“I’m looking forward to getting this behind me (‘Inglorious Bastards’) so I can go back to my writing desk and figure out the next story I want to tell. I just know I want to write. I just kind of figure out what I want to write about as I stumble through it.”
Tarantino again said he wants to do Kill Bill Vol. 3, it just wont be for awhile.
“It will probably be the movie I do after another movie.”
The Santa Barbara Film Festival runs February 4-14. For more information you can visit the official website.
