Leonardo DiCaprio is set to star in ;The Revenant for director Alejandro González Iñárritu and according to a rumor at ScmoesKnow he may be reteaming with his Inception co-star Tom Hardy.
[amz asin=”0786710276″ size=”small”]The site reports Hardy “is in serious talks” to join the film which is based on the Michael Punke novel, “The Revenant: A Novel of Revenge” centering on Hugh Glass (DiCaprio), a 19th century fur trapper who is mauled by a grizzly bear, left for dead and then robbed. When he survives against all odds, he sets out on a treacherous journey to exact revenge on his betrayers.
The film was to star Sean Penn as one of the robbers at one point and it would make sense for Hardy to be filling in those now-vacated shoes. Mark L. Smith (Vacancy) wrote the screenplay, with production expected to begin this fall for a late 2015 release through New Regency’s distribution deal with 20th Century Fox.
