Richard Linklater’s ‘Boyhood’ Added to Sundance, 164 Minute Run Time

Would you look at that, Boyhood to the fest where it will enjoy a series of special preview screenings.

The film stars Patricia Arquette, Ethan Hawke, Ellar Coltrane and Lorelei Linklater and was shot over short periods from 2002 to 2013. Described as a groundbreaking cinematic experience covering 12 years in the life of a family, Boyhood centers on Mason (Coltrane), who with his sister Samantha (Linklater), are taken on an emotional and transcendent journey through the years, from childhood to adulthood. Arquette and Hawke play the children’s parents.

The festival cites the official running time at 164 minutes (2 hours and 44 minutes) and marks yet another return to the fest for after premiering Before Midnight there just a year ago.

Featured above is the first of two pictures from the film, and just below is a second. The film is still looking for distribution.

As I mentioned, this is my most anticipated movie of the coming year, if you missed the list click here.
