‘Thor: The Dark World’, ‘Her’, ‘Neighbors’ and the MPAA Picks on ‘Philomena’ in Today’s Ratings Bulletin

Marvel sticks to its track record and delivers a PG-13 rating for Thor: The Dark World, which saw its review embargo break earlier today and it seems it’s yet another harmless entry in The Avengers franchise.

The other three releases — Her, Philomena and Neighbors — all received an R rating, but the Weinstein Co. doesn’t seem too keen on the R for Philomena as they will attempt to appeal the rating with the C.A.R.A. board. I saw the film in Toronto and can’t remember what language may have called for an R, but I can only assume the word “fuck” is said more than a couple times. I’m an adult, so, I didn’t count.
