Warner Bros. Sets Goldsman’s ‘Winter’s Tale’ for Valentine’s 2014 Release

Early in the year I thought writer/director Akiva Goldsman‘s Winter’s Tale starring Colin Farrell and Russell Crowe may have a shot at being an Oscar contender, but the lack of news surrounding the adaptation of Mark Helprin‘s novel pretty much ended all of that. Now Deadline reports Warner Bros. has set a February 14, 2014 release for the pic, which ends that Oscar chatter altogether.

The film is a fantasy story set in 19th Century and present-day Manhattan and revolves around a thief (Farrell), a dying girl (“Downton Abbey” star Jessica Brown Findlay) and a flying white horse. Jennifer Connelly, William Hurt and Eva Marie Saint co-star.
