Quick, Ten Minute Short Highlighting the Title Work of Saul Bass

I just posted Film.com) is a short documentary on Bass and primarily his title design on Alfred Hitchcock‘s Vertigo, with brief looks at his work on Otto Preminger‘s The Man with the Golden Arm, Hitchcock’s Psycho and Martin Scorsese‘s Casino and Cape Fear.

The doc features commentary from Scorsese and a variety of title designers and biographers with a focus primarily on Bass’ ability to capture the mood of the film in his title sequences alone. When you’re done giving it a watch read my review of Seconds and watch that title sequence right here.
