My first batch of 2014 Oscar predictions in the Best Visual Effects category placed Baz Luhrmann‘s effects-heavy The Great Gatsby in the #7 slot, but after seeing Man of Steel and watching this visual effects reel for the film I couldn’t help but nudge Superman out and move Jay Gatsby in.
