George Lucas and Steven Spielberg may not be able to Terminator 5 and that it will begin shooting in January 2014.
“I’m very happy that the studios want me to be in Terminator 5 and to star AS the Terminator, which we start shooting in January and I’m also going to do King Conan – to play that role and also to do another Twins movie. So I feel very proud of that. I feel very happy and I’m looking forward to doing those films.”
That’s right! More Terminator. More Conan. More Twins! I imagine Schwarzenegger reading Spielberg’s thoughts and saying, “Yah Spielberg, da induh-stry iz really going to implode. Implode. Vhat does zat even mean? Da vurd iz explode, you know, like Ahnuld’s cah-reer iz exploding!
Schwarzenegger’s confirmation comes on the heels of news earlier this week from The Wrap, reporting to the Terminator franchise have landed at Paramount Pictures after Warner Bros. distributed the last two films — Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines and Terminator Salvation.
As for this Terminator 5 business, Patrick Lussier (Drive Angry, My Bloody Valentine) and Laeta Kalogridis (Shutter Island) are writing the screenplay with no word on a director or plot, not like he latter really matters.
Of course, Justin Lin (Fast Five, Fast & Furious 6) has already said he won’t return for Fast & Furious 7, with directorial duties landing in the hands of James Wan, was attached to direct the fifth Terminator at one point, dropping out to direct Fast 6. Now the obvious question is to wonder if he’ll return now that his schedule is free.
