Tom Cruise Drops Out of ‘The Man from U.N.C.L.E.’

Tom Cruise has reportedly dropped out of the Guy Ritchie-directed The Man from U.N.C.L.E. to focus all his attention on Mission: Impossible 5 with expectations to begin filming before the year’s end. However, co-stars Armie Hammer and Alicia Vikander are still attached to the project and a replacement is being sought so production can still begin this Fall. I must say, it will be interesting to see who they replace Cruise with, any suggestions?

The Man from U.N.C.L.E. is based on the NBC television series, which focused on the adventures of American and Russian members of a secret agency called the United Network Command for Law and Enforcement (U.N.C.L.E.). The story centered on characters named Napoleon Solo and Illya Kuryakin, two agents of U.N.C.L.E. who fought the evil forces of Technological Hierarchy for the Removal of Undesirables and the Subjugation of Humanity (T.H.R.U.S.H.). Cruise was to play a version of the character named Napoleon Solo while Hammer will embody a character similar to that of Kuryakin.
