‘Jurassic Park 4’ Heads Back to Isla Nublar

Director Colin Trevorrow (Safety Not Guaranteed) tweeted out the above scouting photo with a note that simply read, “Nublar.” Trevorrow is scouting for Jurassic Park IV and this simple little photo already has fans excited as it will be the first time the series returns to the original scene of the crime as both The Lost World: Jurassic Park and Jurassic Park III took place on Isla Sorna, referred to as Site B.

The film is set to be released on June 13, 2014, which is to say it will be 21 years since Steven Spielberg‘s Jurassic Park hit the silver screen, which means it may actually be interesting to see what the dinosaurs have done with the place. Suffice to say, I assume there will be some darker corners than the lush greenery we see above.

One thing I’m really curious about when it comes to the project is how Trevorrow will approach it tonally. Spielberg and JP3 helmer Joe Johnston obviously have a certain sense of humor about them while Trevorrow’s comedic style was shown to be a bit different in Safety Not Guaranteed. I just hope he’s allowed to do his thing rather than trying to fit someone else’s mold.

Plot details and casting have yet to be revealed, but with casting expected to be announced soon I assume that will all change shortly.
