In traditional fashion, clips from the films that will be playing the 2013 Cannes Film Festival are beginning to emerge and tonight three Only God Forgives clips have arrived giving you a first look at Nicolas Winding Refn‘s new film and each appears to have been made to introduce us to the film’s three main characters.
The first is a focus on Ryan Gosling‘s character, Julien, a drug kingpin tasked by his mother to avenge his brother’s death, who died at the hands of a ruthless Thai police lieutenant.
The second clip offers a look at Kristen Scott Thomas as Julien’s mother, Crystal, and the third and final clip features Vithaya Pansringarm as Chang, the aforementioned Thai police lieutenant, giving you a look at what Julien is up against.
During the announcement of the Cannes Film Festival line-up fest director Thierry Frémaux warned not to expect Drive 2 calling the film “radical and punk”. I can’t wait.
