Stacy Keach to Play the Villain in ‘Sin City 2: A Dame to Kill For’

Finally, seven years and countless rumors later, a sequel to the original film is in production. Filming on Sin City: A Dame to Kill For is underway and directors Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller continue to add to the cast of their next black-and-white, green screen outing adding Stacy Keach to the cast where he’ll play mob boss Wallenquist.

Wallenquist, according to Miller, is “the one man who can’t be redeemed in Sin City. He is pure evil.”

Keach joins several new faces added to the cast, including Jamie Chung, Dennis Haysbert, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Christopher Meloni, Josh Brolin, Ray Liotta, Juno Temple, Jeremy Piven, Eva Green and Julia Garner while Mickey Rourke, Bruce Willis, Rosario Dawson and Jessica Alba are all returning for a second go ’round.

The film is set for an October 4 release.

As much as I found the first Sin City an interesting film in the way it was made, I can’t say it’s a film that continues to appeal to my curiosity and I can’t say this sequel has me all that excited. How about you? Do you have any kind of lasting memories of the first film to the point it’s one you return to often or one that has you anxious to see more? [Variety]
