Nicole Kidman ‘Can’t Wait to Watch Life Tear You Apart’ in Clip from ‘Stoker’

A clip from Chan-wook Park‘s Stoker has come online featuring Nicole Kidman in a single take as she delivers a nearly two-minute speech getting to the core of her character and it is not only menacing, but makes me wonder if we’re looking at potential Oscar caliber work in this film.

Stoker hits theaters on March 1 and a film managing to remain part of the conversation all year isn’t common, but perhaps the combination of her nearly-nominated performance in The Paperboy this year and Stoker‘s proximity to the Oscars this year may help a little.

Here’s the film’s synopsis followed by the clip:

After India’s (Mia Wasikowska) father dies in an auto accident, her Uncle Charlie (Matthew Goode), who she never knew existed, comes to live with her and her emotionally unstable mother (Kidman). Soon after his arrival, she comes to suspect this mysterious, charming man has ulterior motives, but instead of feeling outrage or horror, this friendless girl becomes increasingly infatuated with him.

There’s no mistaking this is a film from the director of Oldboy and the rest of the Vengeance Trilogy.

Stoker was #18 on my list of the Top 50 Most Anticipated Movies of 2013.
