Looper on DVD and Blu-ray
Looper actually hit DVD and Blu-ray yesterday, but considering the holiday got in the way, I decided to delay a day just for content sake.

As for whether or not this is worth a buy, I’m a bit on the fence. Rian Johnson offers good content in terms of giving fans something to enjoy while watching his movie and, as it turns out, you can also download his my interview with the man himself.

Okay, I’ve convinced myself, pick this one up. It is certainly one of 2012’s better films.

Cosmopolis on DVD and Blu-ray
This isn’t a great movie, but there is a lot to take away from it and certainly a lot to pay attention to. If I may suggest, give it a watch and pay particular attention to the seating location of the actors in each and every scene and the importance of where they are seated and the suggested power they hold over the other people in the scene as a result.

It begins with Robert Pattinson seated in what I will call the “captain’s chair” for the sake of this discussion and by the time you get to the final scene with Paul Giamatti, just notice the power struggle between the two characters. If anything, David Cronenberg‘s blocking in this film is phenomenal and a lesson in and of itself.
