Oscar Isaac Performs ‘Dink’s Song’ from Coen Brothers’ ‘Inside Llewyn Davis’

Joel and Ethan Coen‘s Inside Llewyn Davis is still without a distributor and has so far avoided the festival circuit. The New York Film Festival seemed like a good fit given the film’s period setting in the heart of the early 1960s folk music revolution in Greenwich Village, but if it’s going to play there it will have to be a surprise appearance since it isn’t part of the selection. Yet, star Oscar Isaac recently hint at the possibility the film may hit theaters before the end of the year at an event in which Isaac performed a song from the upcoming film.

Caught on camera by Ed Douglas from Coming Soon. Isaac performed “Dink’s Song,” which has been performed by the likes of Bob Dylan, Pete Seeger and Dave Van Ronk, the latter of the list served as the inspiration for the Coens’ film.

Inside Llewyn Davis centers on the struggles of a folk musician (Isaac) during the genre’s 1960s heyday in New York City. Along with Isaac the film co-stars Carey Mulligan, John Goodman and Garrett Hedlund.
