Poster for ‘Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D’ is All Gruesome and Stuff

Lionsgate has debuted the first poster for The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D from Takers helmer John Luessenhop.

The film was originally supposed to hit theaters this October, but was pushed to January 4, 2013 and if I had to guess at a reason why it would simply be to create some space between it and Paranormal Activity 4. Because what is the point in competing for horror eyes when you could just go somewhere where you’re the only horror game in town?

As for the story, the film is being sold as a direct sequel to Tobe Hooper’s 1974 classic, picking up decades later and miles away from the original massacre in Newt, Texas where it will follow a young girl named Heather (Alexandra Daddario), who along with her friends, travel to Texas in order to collect an inheritance where they eventually have a run in with Leatherface, this time played by Dan Yeager though archival footage of Gunnar Hansen in the role is said to be included.

So check out the poster below and stay tuned as I’m sure we’ll have a trailer any day now.
