Screenwriting newcomer Cameron Fay has been hired to rewrite the Fox comedy Don’t Send Help.
The film is about a grungy beauty pageant host who ends up stranded on a deserted island with a handful of supermodels. Fay has come aboard to give the project a younger sensibility.
Not-quite-yet Minnesota Sen. Al Franken originated the project as a pitch with Geoff Rodkey (RV). TV writers Josh Sternin and Jeff Ventimilia (“That ’70s Show”) wrote subsequent drafts.
