‘Skyfall’ Gets Its Own Video Blog with Bond Director Sam Mendes

It would appear 007 is stealing a page out of The Hobbit book as over the last couple of days Columbia Pictures has been teasing Facebook fans with the first, of what is expected to be many, Skyfall video blogs with director Sam Mendes. Today, it finally arrives.

The video focuses primarily on Mendes and his affinity for Bond and what attracted him to the feature. As far as his take on what will be the 23rd James Bond film, he says it affords him the opportunity to make a “fabulous, glamorous and escapist movie and at the same time say something about the world we’re living in.”

Unlike Peter Jackson’s video blogs for The Hobbit this is relatively short and more of a 90-second featurette than anything else, but it does give you a behind the scenes look at the feature, which is set to hit theaters on November 9 with Daniel Craig once again reprising his role as Bond where he’ll be joined by Javier Bardem, Ralph Fiennes, Naomie Harris, Judi Dench, Helen McCrory, Ben Whishaw, Albert Finney and Ola Rapace.

Check out the video below and they’ve also uploaded a behind-the-scenes look at Mendes with Judi Dench on set right here.
