First Look at James Howson as Heathcliff in ‘Wuthering Heights’

Andrea Arnold’s Wuthering Heights, based on the novel by Emily Bronte and adapted for the screen by Arnold and Olivia Hetreed, will have its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival and UK distributor Artificial Eye has sent over the first look at James Howson as Heathcliff in the film. Howson is joined by Kaya Scodelario (“Skins”) as Cathy, Steve Evets as Joseph, Oliver Milburn as Mr Linton and Nicola Burley as Isabella Linton.

The story follows a Yorkshire hill farmer on a visit to Liverpool who finds a homeless boy on the streets. He takes him home to live as part of his family on the isolated Yorkshire moors where the boy forges an obsessive relationship with the farmer’s daughter.

The complete Venice line-up was announced this morning, but outside of Whit Stillman’s Damsels in Distress being added as the closing night film, the list doesn’t include any high profile features that weren’t already announced when I covered it last week. For the complete competition list you can check this article out right here.
