Cannes 2010: A Video Tour of the Grand Theatre Lumiere

Above all else at the Cannes Film Festival the one truly amazing part of the process is the 2300-seat Grand Théâtre Lumière. The Lumière screens feature films in Competition and Out of Competition in the Official Selection and plush seating and an amazing sound system makes this even comfortable for someone like me who’s clocking in at 6′ 6″.

That said, I decided to do a little montage video accompanied by the “Carnival of the Animals: VII. Aquarium,” which is used in the short Cannes promo reel that plays before each film here at the festival. I apologize for the bouncy cam at the opening, but hopefully this gives you a better idea of just how massive this place is. Also, there aren’t any moments where I could get a shot of the screen without the black curtain covering it because I’m not about to get in trouble for appearing to pirate one of the films.
