Bryce Dallas Howard Replaces Lefevre in ‘Twilight: Eclipse’

Another respected actress is joining the Twilight fold as Variety reports Bryce Dallas Howard is set to join the cast of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse as the character of Victoria replacing Rachelle Lefevre who appeared as the character in the 2008 original film.

Lefevre will also appear in the upcoming The Twilight Saga: New Moon, but has reportedly had to bow out of the third film due to scheduling conflicts, which does make sense considering in all my experience covering the Twilight franchise Lefevre always seemed the most energetic of the bunch.

This is the second bit of new casting for Eclipse that has been announced as unknown actor Xavier Samuel joined the cast back in mid-July and will play newborn vampire Riley, a good-looking college student who joins the plot of villain Victoria to murder protagonist Bella (Kristen Stewart).

Filming on the third film begins in Vancouver in August with David Slade directing for a release of June 30, 2010. New Moon hits theaters on November 20 this year.

What I saw of the sequel at Comic Con did very little to make me think it was going to be all that vast an improvement on the original installment, but I will say the second clip they previewed was at the very least… decent.
