RopeofSilicon user “Friends of Eddie” last sent in scans from Cahiers du CinÃ©ma’s January 2009 edition with a diary written by Argentinean filmmaker Celine Murga based on her experiences on the set of Martin Scorsese’s Shutter Island and today he returns with a piece of teaser art that was originally assumed to be authentic, but has since been proven to be a piece of fan made art according to the studio.
Shutter Island is currently due out on October 2 and stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Mark Ruffalo, Ben Kingsley, Michelle Williams, Max von Sydow, Patricia Clarkson, Emily Mortimer and Jackie Earle Haley. The official site is also live, but merely with placeholder information.
Laeta Kalogridis’ adaptation of Dennis Lehane’s 2004 novel, in which Ruffalo will play U.S. Marshal Chuck Aule, who travels with his new partner (DiCaprio) to the eponymous Massachusetts island in 1954. As they investigate the disappearance of a patient from a hospital for the criminally insane, they encounter a web of lies, a hurricane and a deadly inmate riot that leaves them trapped on the island.
