Sony’s Screen Gems has picked up Within, a thriller written by Jack Olsen, with Michael Lynne, Bob Shaye and Dylan Sellers attached to produce through the Unique Features.
The story, in the vein of The Hand That Rocks the Cradle, revolves around a couple whose marriage is threatened when the baby surrogate they have hired becomes obsessed with wanting the husband and the baby for herself.
Screen Gems president Clint Culpepper and senior vp production Scott Strauss will oversee the project.
Olsen wrote Beyond a Reasonable Doubt, RKO’s upcoming remake of the 1956 film noir, starring Michael Douglas and Amber Tamblyn.
