Trailer for Roland Emmerich’s ‘2012’ Crashes the Net

I am not much of a fan of Roland “End of Days” Emmerich, but if he makes 2012 without sticking to his typical style of corny characters and even cornier dialogue it really has a shot of being good based on the premise, which mixes in the idea of the Mayan calendar, which predicts the world ending in 2012, with natural disasters such as volcanic eruptions, typhoons and glaciers plaguing the planet and a large cast of characters dealing with the mayhem.

The first trailer has just arrived and you can watch it below or over at Moviefone in high definition, but it creates a very cool premise where the leaders of our world may know a major disaster is coming, but wouldn’t tell anyone about it because there is nothing that can be done.

Give it a watch below, 2012 hits theaters on July 10 and stars John Cusack, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Danny Glover, Thandie Newton, Oliver Platt, Amanda Peet and Woody Harrelson.
