2006 Weinstein Co. Spring Preview

Well, I didn’t expect this, and while it isn’t a full preview, which is probably a good thing since the Weinstein’s aren’t exactly ones to stick to a release date, but I do have new pics from four of their upcoming films for you along with a new little animated feature called Doogal, which just happens to be the 3000th movie added to our database!

DOOGAL

(February 24)

Legend tells of three magic diamonds that, if in the wrong hands, can be united to create a force powerful enough to freeze the sun. When the evil sorcerer Zeebad (Jon Stewart) escapes from his ancient prison, he vows to exact revenge by deep-freezing the earth forever. Determined to save the world, a fellowship of four unlikely heroes band together to foil Zeebad’s villainous plot. Led by the candy-loving mutt Doogal (Kenan Thompson), friends Dylan (Jimmy Fallon), Brian (William H. Macy) and Ermintrude (Whoopi Goldberg) all embark on an epic adventure to save the world. In order to find the diamonds before Zeebad, they must climb icy mountains, navigate fiery pits of molten lava, sail across vast oceans and pass through a boobytrapped temple guarded by an army of ninja skeleton warriors. Along the way they learn that the most powerful weapon is their friendship – which even Zeebad’s evil magic cannot destroy.
PULSE

In a world of technology that’s supposed to connect us, psychology student Mattie and her classmates find themselves more disconnected than ever. After her boyfriend Josh’s (Jonathan Tucker) mysterious suicide, Mattie (Veronica Mars’ Kristen Bell) and her friends begin receiving cryptic e-mails and unsettling video messages. At first, they believe they are simply the victims of a hi-tech hoax, but after a rash of disappearances across campus, they quickly realize there’s something deadly behind the messages. This sinister force takes over life, dominating one’s thoughts and cutting its victims off from the world, until death becomes the only option. With computer hacker Dex’s (Lost’s Ian Somerhalder) help, Mattie must unravel the mystery of the infection and shut it down before it reaches the rest of the world.
