Schneider Plays the Same Role with Different Skills

First he was a “gigolo,” then an animal, then a “hot chick,” then a “gigolo” and now a kung fu expert as Rob Schneider is making yet again the same movie with him simply taking on a different skill. I can’t remember exactly which episode of “South Park” it was, but I do know it was on the last DVD set I reviewed, season six, where they had a bunch of spoof trailers for a Rob Schneider film and I can’t get it out of my head, and Trey and Matt’s mini commentary on the subject was just as good.

This time around Schneider will star and actually make his directorial debut in Big Stan in which he will play a weak and nebbishy con man who panics when he learns he’s going to prison for fraud. He hires a mysterious martial arts guru, who transforms him into a kung fu expert who can fight off inmates who want to hurt him — and love him. Original huh?

Let’s see, Stan gets violated, Stan kicks a guy in the balls, Stan talks with a goofy accent, Stan gets the girl in the end. It can’t be that simple can it?

To be honest I think Schneider is funny, but primarily in character roles such as when he played the delivery guy Nazo in Big Daddy, “Hip, hip-hop, hip-hop-atatomus.” Now that was some funny shit!
