Ejiofor Becomes on of Cuaron’s ‘Men’

Serenity may have ended up a box-office bust, but it remains one of my favorite films of the year and one of the reasons for that was the performance by Chiwetel Ejiofor and it seems Alfonso Cuaron sees something in the actor as well as he has just cast him in his upcoming sci-fi feature Children of Men.

Ejiofor is joining a major list of names including Clive Owen, Julianne Moore, Charlie Hunnam and Gary Oldman. He will play the leader of a radical political faction bent on controlling the future of the human race, which doesn’t seem to be a far cry from his Serenity role.

Following that feature Ejiofor will join Connie Nielsen, Lauren Ambrose and Rutger Hauer in Tonight at Noon for writer/director Michael Almereyda in which he will play two characters in a story about New Yorkers who experience random encounters that define their lives.

And if you really want me to prove how hot this guy’s career is, he just finished starring opposite Denzel Washington, Jodie Foster and Clive Owen in Spike Lee‘s Inside Man.
