Sony Takes Perez Pitch and Moore’s Swap

Columbia Pictures has acquired an untitled pitch by Accepted screenwriter Mark Perez for Adam Sandler’s Happy Madison to produce. The studio has also hired the writing team of Tim and Tom Mullen to adapt Antony Moore’s novel “The Swap” for the big screen.

Variety says Perez’s pitch centers on a man in a troubled marriage who figures out a way to create the perfect wife.

“The Swap,” which was published last year by Harvill Secker, centers on an out-of-shape comic book dealer who, haunted by the loss of a priceless comic book, tries to reverse his fortunes at his high school reunion and becomes involved in murder, romance and the unearthing of long-buried secrets.
