Glover as Grendel?

The last time Robert Zemeckis and Crispin Glover worked together Glover played George McFly in the 1985 flick Back to the Future, and now we get news from Fangoria that Glover may be taking on the role of the flamboyant, over-the-top role of Grendel in the upcoming CGI/live-action adaptation of the popular epic poem Beowulf.

Glover was quoted by Fangoria saying, “I just went in this week to read for the part… It isn’t finalized at this point, but it all seems to be going real well.”

Beowulf currently stars the talents of Ray Winstone, Anthony Hopkins, Brendan Gleeson and Robin Wright Penn and is eyeing a 2007 release as Zemeckis will employ the performance capture technique that was used to bring the characters of The Polar Express to “life.”

The film is based on the Old English epic poem following a Scandinavian warrior as he takes on the legendary monster, Grendel, and becomes king.
