Overture Makes a Crescendo with Don Cheadle

Overture Films has signed a two-year first-look deal with Crescendo Productions, headed by Don Cheadle, Lenore Zerman and Kay Liberman.

Overture CEO Chris McGurk and chief operating officer Danny Rosett made the announcement and noted that the deal reunites them with the producers of Traitor, an Overture Films release starring Cheadle. The actor also starred in Hotel Rwanda, distributed by MGM and UA, while McGurk and Rosett were toppers at the Lion.

Crescendo’s projects include the documentary Darfur Now and a Miles Davis biopic that’s in development. The company will remain in offices outside Overture’s Beverly Hills HQ but will work closely with McGurk, Rosett and marketing/distribution president Peter Adee.
