Four Climbing Aja’s ‘Hills’

The Hollywood Reporter has announced the cast set to star in writer/director Alexandre Aja‘s follow-up to the recently released High Tension.

Aaron Stanford, Kathleen Quinlan, Ted Levine and Vinessa Shaw are set to star in the Fox Searchlight feature The Hills Have Eyes, a remake of the 1977 film written and directed by Wes Craven, who will produce the new version with his production partner Marianne Maddalena and Peter Locke.

The film will begin production this month in Morocco and will follow a vacationing family that makes a wrong turn in the desert and is terrorized by the inhabitants they encounter.

THR goes on to say that Stanford will play Doug Wood; Shaw plays his wife, Lynne Wood; Levine plays Big Bob Carter; and Quinlan will play Ethel Carter. Also starring are Emilie de Ravin as Brenda Carter, Dan Byrd as Bobby Carter and Robert Joy as Lizard. Billy Drago and Tom Bower also have been cast.

If the names in the cast aren’t immediately recognizeable trust me their faces will be once you see them on screen especially Aaron Stanford who will follow-up the filming of The Hills Have Eyes with his reprisal of his role from X2 as he will join the production of X-Men 3 as Pyro. Levine is a regular on USA’s “Monk,” not to mention several feature films and Shaw recently starred in the Woody Allen flick Melinda and Melinda and was also featured in such films as 40 Days and 40 Nights and Eyes Wide Shut.
