James Cox has signed on to direct The Summoner, a psychological horror movie from Dark Castle and Warner Bros., says The Hollywood Reporter.
Written by Matthew Sand, the story centers on a young man experimenting with the dark arts who summons a supernatural being to our world. When his control begins to slip and the situation turns deadly, he must stop the onslaught of evil before it’s too late.
Casting is under way for a January shoot in Portland, Ore.
Joel Silver and David Gambino are producing; Susan Downey, Steve Richards, Lawrence Mattis and David Alpert are executive producing.
