Helen Hunt Set to Helm

Helen Hunt has steered clear of acting for some time now, and while she will star opposite Scarlett Johansson in A Good Woman later this year, her slate is pretty much clean, that was… until now.

Variety is reporting that the one-time sitcom star turned movie star is now eyeing the director’s chair as she will star in and direct Then She Found Me, a film Hunt adapted from an Elinor Lipman novel.

Talk about letting us all in on what she has been up to.

Already, negotiations are underway with Diane Keaton and Woody Harrelson to join the cast in a film described by Hunt to Variety, “It is a story about betrayal and the surprising, funny and redemptive things that are borne out of that.” The Variety article goes on to say that Hunt has been working on the script for seven years.

In Then She Found Me, Hunt will play a Philadelphia schoolteacher hitting a midlife crisis. In quick succession, her husband leaves, her adoptive mother dies and her real one, an eccentric talkshow host, materializes and turns her life upside down as she begins a courtship with the father (Harrelson) of one of her students.
