Justin Timberlake Joins ‘Shrek 3’ Cast

Today at the “Animation Now: Imagination Inovation Inspiration,” DreamWorks Animation filmmakers and voice talents including a heftier Jerry Seinfeld, Mike Myers and Chris Rock gave the audience a sneak peek at the making of several DreamWorks Animation releases as well as word came down that Justin Timberlake will be joining the cast of Shrek 3.

Mike Myers, who provides the unmistakable voice of that lovable ogre Shrek, took center stage to present some early work on the third installment of the Shrek franchise, and in a surprise appearance, Justin Timberlake joined Myers on stage and it was announced that Timberlake will be providing the voice of Artie, King Harold’s rebellious nephew, in the new film.

USA Today happened to be at the event where Shrek 3 producer Aron Warner said, “there is a baby involved” in the third installment. “In teaching Artie to be king, Shrek has to overcome his deep-seated fear of being a father.”

Shrek 3 is currently slated for a May 18, 2007 and is said to center around the story of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table.
