Warner Bros. 2005 Summer Preview

I was a bit surprised when I received the 2005 Warner Bros. Summer Preview, but who am I to complain, considering we have some new looks at some films I am sure several of you are looking forward to including The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, The Dukes of Hazzard, Batman Begins, House of Wax and Must Love Dogs.

We have each title featured below, so read on and enjoy this early look at summer.

HOUSE OF WAX (May 6th)

Warner Bros. will start off the summer with a scare with the thrilling remake of the Vincent Price classic House of Wax, starring Chad Michael Murray, Elisha Cuthbert, Jared Padalecki, Jon Abrahams, Brian Van Holt and the heiress herself, Paris Hilton.

The film tells the story of a group of friends who fall prey to a sinister plot while passing through a small town on their way to a college football game.

While we don’t have anything new for this film, there is more than enough to keep you busy as we have a gallery of 17 images, trailer links and an official website link that has a ton of features for you to handle.

THE SISTERHOOD OF THE TRAVELING PANTS

(May 20th)

One film that seems to be highly anticipated, but I have no understanding why, since I have not read the book, is The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, which is set to open on May 20th. The film stars Amber Tamblyn, America Ferrera, Blake Lively, Alexis Bledel, Bradley Whitford, Nancy Travis, Rachel Ticotin and Jenna Boyd and is based on Ann Brashares’ best-selling novel about a special summer in the lives of four lifelong friends who are separated for the first time. On a shopping trip, the young women find a pair of thrift-shop jeans that fits each of them perfectly and they decide to use these pants as a way of keeping in touch over the months ahead, each one wearing the jeans for a week to see what luck they bring her before sending them on to the next. Though miles apart, the four friends still experience life, love and loss together in a summer they’ll never forget.

He have only one new image for this flick, but it does feature the majority of the cast, so click here to browse the gallery.

BATMAN BEGINS (June 17th)

Next, we have Batman Begins, which opens on June 17th. The film stars Christian Bale as the dark knight with a large cast of supporting actors including Michael Caine, Liam Neeson, Katie Holmes, Gary Oldman, Cillian Murphy, Tom Wilkinson, Rutger Hauer, Ken Watanabe and Morgan Freeman.

The story is an origin story exploring the early days of the Batman legend and the Dark Knight’s emergence as a force for good in Gotham. In the wake of his parents’ murder, disillusioned industrial heir Bruce Wayne (Christian Bale) travels the world seeking the means to fight injustice and turn fear against those who prey on the fearful. He returns to Gotham and unveils his alter-ego: Batman, a masked crusader who uses his strength, intellect and an array of high tech deceptions to fight the sinister forces that threaten the city.

CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY

(July 15th)

For you Depp fans this is going to be a treat, pun intended, as Johnny is teaming up once again with Tim Burton for a re-imagining of the classic Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

Return to the Chocolate Factory on July 15th as a good-hearted boy from a poor family who lives in the shadow of Wonka’s extraordinary factory. Long isolated from his own family, Wonka launches a worldwide contest to select an heir to his candy empire. Five lucky children, including Charlie, draw golden tickets from Wonka chocolate bars and win a guided tour of the legendary candy-making facility that no outsider has seen in 15 years. Dazzled by one amazing sight after another, Charlie is drawn into Wonka’s fantastic world in this astonishing and enduring story.

We have added one new image to the gallery and also have a new TV Spot for you to check out so click here to get to the checkin’.

MUST LOVE DOGS (July 29th)

Releasing on July 29th is the Diane Lane and John Cusack romantic-comedy Must Love Dogs, which tells the story of Sarah Nolan (Diane Lane), a newly divorced woman cautiously rediscovering romance with the enthusiastic but often misguided help of her well-meaning family. As she braves a series of hilariously disastrous mismatches and first dates, Sarah begins to trust her own instincts again and learns that, no matter what, it’s never a good idea to give up on love.

We don’t have any new material on this one unfortunately, but we do have two stills in the gallery and an official website finally, yet it has not yet gone live. Click here to check out the stills however.

THE DUKES OF HAZZARD (August 5th)

Coming in August is a film that will attempt to bring the TV legends, the Duke boys, to the big screen accompanied by Jessica Simpson as Miss Daisy Duke herself. The Dukes of Hazzard opens August 5th and follows cousins Bo (Seann William Scott) and Luke (Johnny Knoxville) Duke, who with the help of their eye-catching cousin Daisy and moonshine-running Uncle Jesse (Willie Nelson), try and save the family farm from being destroyed by Hazzard County’s corrupt commissioner Boss Hogg (Burt Reynolds). Their efforts constantly find the “Duke Boys” eluding authorities in “The General Lee,” their famed 1969 orange Dodge Charger that keeps them one step ahead of the dimwitted antics of the small southern town’s Sheriff Roscoe P. Coltrane (M.C. Gainey).

We have just added two new pics to the Dukes gallery that are worth your perusal, so click here to check ’em out.
