‘X-Men 3’ Helmer Chosen and Halle Still Unsure

Whether you have seen or heard of the Brit flick Layer Cake it may or may not matter to you, but the helmer, Matthew Vaughn, has just been confirmed by Ain’t-it-Cool-News as the director for X-Men 3.

AICN also reports that word is that Zak Penn’s script will be the one that gets used as opposed to the earlier Simon Kinberg draft, while I am sure Kinberg will be getting his name attached to the film either way.

In other news, I was forwarded some news from XMenFilms.net, which reports that Halle Berry is still grumbling over her involvement in X-Men 3 and the site was able to coax a quote out of the actress, “I have not read the script. All I have asked, is that if I come back as Storm, she need to be closer to the comic book. So, if they have in fact written her closer to the comic book character, then I’m in. If not, I’m out. I hope I’m in though. I love Storm, and really want to be part of the last film.

I don’t exactly know what the problem here is, as long as there isn’t an out-of-left-field basketball scene with her and Benjamin Bratt I wouldn’t think she would have any complaints about the script. Then again Catwoman did earn her more awards than X2 ever did.

I guess we will just have to wait and see if Halle’s desire for a larger part can succumb to fan fervor or if she is going to send Storm to the drain.
