Reeves is ‘Sinbad’

What we have here is the possibility for a great film, but I am not quite sure if the casting choice is right.

Keanu Reeves has been set to star in The 8th Voyage of Sinbad at Columbia Pictures with Rob Cohen on to direct, and Charlie Mitchell is rewriting a script by Cormac and Marianne Wibberly and Tedi Sarafian.

Reeves will obviously be playing Sinbad, the legendary sailor from “The Arabian Nights.”

The film will be set in eighth-century China, and Sinbad and his shipmates will embark on a quest to find the Lamp of Aladdin. Along the way, they meet a beautiful empress and battle fantastical creatures as well as a rebellious Chinese general who threatens the kingdom with his supernatural powers.

The last time Sinbad hit the big screen he was voiced by Brad Pitt in the animated flop Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas

Rob Cohen was the director of the first XXX movie starring Vin Diesel and helmed the upcoming Jamie Foxx and Jessica Biel starrer Stealth.
