Kidman and Downey Draped in ‘Fur’

Nicole Kidman and Robert Downey Jr. are in negotiations to star alongside one another in Fur, a drama about the life of photographer Diane Arbus.

The film is expected to begin production in New York in May and reteams director Steven Shainberg and writer Erin Cressida. The duo had previously worked on the strange film Secretary, which starred Maggie Gyllenhaal and James Spader.

Kidman’s availability is due to the crumbling production of the Aussie pic Eucalyptus, in which she starring opposite Russell Crowe before production was halted for “script reasons.”
