The 2005 Screen Actors Guild Awards Nominees Announced

Nominations for the 11th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards® for outstanding performances in 2004 in five film and eight primetime television categories were announced this morning in Los Angeles at the Pacific Design Center’s SilverScreen Theater.

Screen Actors Guild President Melissa Gilbert introduced Rosario Dawson and James Denton, who announced the nominees for this year’s Actors®.

Screen Actors Guild Awards 41st Annual Life Achievement Award

Jamie Foxx owns this year’s SAG Awards where his four nominations alone prove how far he has come and coming in just behind him is Hilary Swank with three total nominations as both of them cross over from the Motion Picture categories into Primetime Television.

Once again Sideways proves its dominance on the award circuit by pulling in the largest number of nominations with four, closely followed by Finding Neverland, Hotel Rwanda, Million Dollar Baby and The Aviator, all with three. On the Primetime Television side of things “The Sopranos” leads the way with four total noms followed by “Will & Grace” and “Everybody Loves Raymond” with three and a large group with two total nominations.

As for the studios Miramax leads the way with six total Motion Picture noms followed closely by Fox Searchlight, while on the Primetime side HBO continues its yearly dominance as it pulled in a total of 10 noms with CBS and NBC following with seven and six noms respectively.

Screen Actors Guild will honor its own at its 11th Annual Awards ceremonies on Saturday, February 5, at the Los Angeles Shrine Exposition Center, televised nationally on Turner Network Television (TNT) at 8 p.m. ET/PT, 7 p.m. CT, and 6 p.m. MT.
