Legendary Pictures has acquired an untitled sci-fi pitch from writer Matt Cirulnick and producer David Manpearl, reports Variety.
In the story, humans have been subjugated after having lost a war to an enemy race. The first installment chronicles the start of the human uprising — led by a young man who escapes the prisons in which humans are being kept.
Legendary, which partnered with Warner Bros. on The Dark Knight, is developing Paradise Lost, Warcraft and Clash of the Titans. Partner projects include Watchmen and Ninja Assassin at Warner Bros. and Gears of War at New Line.
