CS Videos: Star Wars: The Clone Wars

George Lucas invited press to visit his Big Rock ranch in San Francisco where he unveiled the brand-new theatrical release, Star Wars: The Clone Wars.

The film, set between “Attack of the Clones” and “Revenge of the Sith,” returns to some familiar characters with a less-than-familiar look. Rendered in a stylized 3-D, Lucas explained that one of the primary influences for the film was the classic 1960’s marionette show, “Thunderbirds”.

Primarily the story of Anakin Skywalker and his new apprentice, Ahsoka Tano, the theatrical release is designed as a launching point for the upcoming CG-animated series, set to debut on Cartoon Network in October.

ComingSoon.net talked with director Dave Filoni and producer Catherine Winder about their decidedly non-traditional take on the “Star Wars” universe which will hit the big screen this Friday.
