Ving Rhames Joins the Bastards Cast

Ving Rhames (Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation) is set to join Ed Helms and Owen Wilson in the Bastards cast, it was announced by Alcon co-founders and co-CEOs Andrew Kosove and Broderick Johnson.

Bastards is the directorial debut of veteran cinematographer Lawrence Sher (“The Hangover” films). Principal photography is set to start in Atlanta and Miami this September. Rhames’ role shoots primarily in December. The film will be released by Warner Bros. via Alcon’s output deal.

Alcon announced last week that J.K. Simmons (Whiplash) and Hall of Fame Quarterback Terry Bradshaw have also joined the cast. Bastards focuses on two brothers whose eccentric mother raised them to believe their father had died when they were young. When they discover this to be a lie, they set out to find their real father, learning more about their mother than they ever wanted to know.

Alcon is financing Bastards and producing with Montecito Picture Company, whose Ivan Reitman, Ali Bell will produce along with Johnson and Kosove. Tom Pollock will executive produce along with Chris Fenton and Chris Coles. Justin Malen (Bad Teacher 2) wrote the screenplay.

Rhames is repped by Kramer Management.
