Richard Dreyfuss is in final talks to play Dick Cheney in Oliver Stone’s W, says The Hollywood Reporter.
The role is the last major position in the Bush administration to be filled; the West Wing is already occupied by the likes of Josh Brolin (President Bush), Thandie Newton (Condoleezza Rice) and Elizabeth Banks (Laura Bush).
The QED-produced film, which has been granted a waiver by SAG, begins shooting this month in Shreveport, Louisiana. Lionsgate will release the movie on October 17, before election day, followed by a DVD release in January, when Bush leaves office.
