Variety says Warner Bros. has acquired Due Date, a comic pitch by Alan Freedland and Alan Cohen, the writer-producers of Fox’s “King of the Hill.”
Todd Phillips will produce through his WB-based Green Hat Films.
The story is about a hard-charging business executive from L.A. whose wife is about to have their first child. The dad-to-be gets stuck in a snowstorm and must hitch a ride with a laid-back college kid to make it to the birth on time.
Green Hat’s Scott Budnick will be executive producer.
